Transparent, optical-clear PET window does not disrupt the eye-contact. Do not affect sound spreading. However, it effectively blocks any virus carring moisture spreading. The existence of the barrier is also a good reminder of this temporal change to etiquette. During epidemy we do not shake hands, and we keep the distance to people we interact with.
The barrier as such makes the disinfection easy. It can be treated with alcohol or other anti-bacterial sprays with no harm to its physical properties.
