In contrary, the offset printing is quite demanding in this matter. Yes its super-fast, and the cost drops significantly with the increase of quantities. However, we are talking about custom products. Digital large format inkjet can start just for one page, image or several square meters of wallpaper. In case of offset machine there is quite a long process of color separation and plate preparation from which each color section will press the image. Additionally, the sections must be aligned what costs time, and also some material.
The expression here is not that there will be no space for offset printers. It is just that analogue and digital technologies occupy completely different spaces of the market. What is most important about digital printing is that it makes its services available for everyman.
